This site is dedicated to West Midlands Passenger Transport Executive which operated buses from 1st October 1969 to 26th October 1986.
W.M.P.T.E was formed due to the 1968 Transport Act, which over took over the integration of buses from Birmingham City Transport, Walsall Corporation, West Bromwich Corporation and Wolverhampton Corporation.
On the 3rd December 1973 local services operated by Midland Red were also adsorbed and finally Coventry Corporation came into the P.T.E following a boundary changes in 1974.
